Having fun is a core value for everyone. Having fun makes us happy and is good for our physical well-being. There are different types of fun related to money: expensive fun and cheap fun. Both types of fun can be equally rewarding.

The artist Sia sings a song about the economical type of fun. She says, ’Til I hit the dance floor, hit the dance floor, I got all I need. No, I ain’t got cash, I ain’t got cash, but I got you, baby. In these words, the writer is reminding us of the fun to be had without having to spend a lot of money. Happiness can come from being with other people and enjoying fun activities together no matter how simple.

Likewise, God reminds us of the ways we can find happiness and fun simply through being with others and enjoying His creation. Colossians 3:12-14 reminds us of how we build great relationships and friendship for fun. It says, “As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”

Conclusion
We don’t need a lot of money or things to be happy and have fun. God has enabled us to find those things in our relationships, not our things. So, go have a blast with your friends!
