Objective
Students will learn from Paul’s and Peter’s example that God is good, He forgives, and He transforms us. In life there are storms. Some storms come from our choices we make But God is on our side and He alone will guide them in, through, and out of the storm. In some cases He will calm the storm. After the storm when we see the aftermath God made it all work for our good.

Warm Up
Have a student read Romans 8:28. Ask the students what parts of this verse resonates with them. Write a few of their answers down.

Play the video.

Transition
Explain that in the vieo Brinson raps, “You forgave me like I never did it.” Brinson had this verse in mind: Micah 7:19 (NIV) “You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.”

Bible Study
All things work together – it is mind blowing how God can change anything around for His children. He is a Master of transformation!

Look at the author of the book of Romans. The Apostle Paul was on a mission to eliminate the followers of Jesus and then God transformed him. Numerous times in the word of God we have witnessed God transform people and situations. Also, God can transform the way we think, our emotions, and our futures to work for our good.

It’s a great feeling to know you have been forgiven of a wrong. I want everyone to close your eyes and think about the worst thing you have ever done. Think about the secret wrongs that no one found out about. (Wait twenty seconds.) Can you see them? Now open your eyes and think about this. God saw them all. Not only did God forgive you of all of them, He doesn’t remind you of them either.

This video is speaking simultaneously of God’s forgiveness and goodness. Let’s talk briefly about one of the most famous disciples: Peter, who denied knowing Jesus (Matthew 26:75) after telling Jesus he would die for Him. But let’s look at how good and forgiving God is.

Shortly after the Resurrection, an angel says to bring Peter to Jesus. (Mark 16:7) The one who just a few days before turned His back on Jesus. But the goodness of God forgives. Later in Peter’s life Jesus made him so great, allowing him to start the first church.

Wrap Up
Just like God forgave and transformed Peter, He can do the same for us. He is so good! Let’s pray.
