Objective
This session will remind students that they are the light of the world.
Warm Up
Shadow Puppet Charades – Break your group into two teams. Give each team a flashlight (or two depending on group size). Turn out the lights. Have one person from each team come to the front of the room. Give each student a clue/word that they must then portray as a shadow puppet. The team that guesses correctly gets the point. Play until one team gets five points.
Transition

- Was it hard to see in the dark?
- Did anyone feel uneasy in the dark?
- How were you able to use the light to your advantage?
The Video

Wrap Up
100 Tea-Lights – Supplies: lighter, tea light candles (anywhere from 50-100 depending on space and time). With all the lights out, start with one lit tea-light. Explain that this is a time of quiet and prayer, that students, with the lesson in mind, should think about what it means to be the light of the world. Have them think of practical ways they can shine their light in the next week. Have them pray for God to show them how, to strengthen them to be the light He wants them to be.
Slowly begin to light the candles one at a time. Let the light and warmth fill the space as students sit in silence thinking about how they can be the light of the world.
