Objective
The students will understand that we were not made to make our spiritual walk alone, but are meant to walk with God and the people He puts in our lives- today, in college, and beyond.
Warm Up
Divide the room in half. On one side put a team of 3-5 people. On the other side, put a team of 1 person. Give each team “ammunition” (pit balls, paper wads, ping pong balls, etc..).
The goal of the game is to have more balls on your opponent’s side than yours when the game time expires. This initial round will definitely favor the players that aren’t alone (but it will make your point later). After that first round, give the solo player some help by evening the teams and let them play several more rounds as time allows.
Transition
As you complete the game, ask the students what they observed about the game and how having help vs. being alone changed the game.
Ask how they could apply that to their lives and have them write it down in the Not Alone section of their Student Guide.
This song is a message to those who struggle that we were not meant to do this life alone. Even if it is slower or even difficult, in the end, we can face the world when we place our faith in God and lean on those He has given us to walk through life together.
As they listen, have them write down any lyrics that speak to them in the section titled, I Hear You. Play the video, We Against the World by Hulvey.
