Theme(s): Motivation Zeal Perspective
Objective
Students will be encouraged to act now to influence their world toward righteousness.
Warm Up
Electricity – Divide into two even teams and have each team sit back-to-back in a single file line of chairs (one team is facing one direction, and the other is facing the opposite direction.) Instruct the players on each team to hold hands. At one end of the line, have a Styrofoam cup; at the other, have a leader with a quarter.
To play the game, the person with the quarter will start flipping the quarter, with the most immediate players watching – all other players are looking at the cups. When the quarter comes up heads, the players watching squeeze the hand of the player next to them, with each consecutive player squeezing the hand next to them, and on down the line. When the last person in line feels their hand get squeezed, they grab the cup!
If somebody grabbed the cup, but heads didn’t show up on the quarter, that team loses a point. If someone grabbed the cup and heads did show up, that team scores a point. The two players at the cup end move up to the front where the quarter is, and everyone else shifts down.
One important note: only the two players at the front of the line, by the quarter, can watch the quarter – everyone else should be looking at the cups. Play until one team has scored ten points. You’ll likely need several cups available; they tend to get crushed.

The Video
Hand out the Student Guides. Explain that the music video by for KING & COUNTRY (a Christian music band from Australia) is very provocative and symbolic. Encourage the group to pay attention to what the visuals might communicate in addition to the lyrics.
Play the “What Are We Waiting For?” music video by for KING & COUNTRY.

Bible Study
Read Ephesians 5:15-16
“Be very careful” means giving thought to your lifestyle and being strategic with what you do.
The word “opportunity” is the Greek god Kairos – who was muscular (strong), with wings on his feet (moved swiftly), and had short hair in the back but long hair in front. That signified that if you wanted to get him to work for you, you had to grab him as he was moving toward you – once he passed you by, there was nothing to grab.
“Making the most” means getting the maximum benefit from those opportunities.
Read Galatians 6:9-10
Wrap Up
Point out the radio messages received in the video – especially the last transmission. “And the question your soul had asked a thousand times was uttered:” The video ends just as the guy was about to ask that question.
Encourage your students to give real thought to how they live, not to grow weary and give up, but to recognize and then maximize their opportunities to influence their world toward Christ.
Close in prayer.
